Overview

 

The Business Development Manager will market and sell a range of pipe related services associated with Savage’s North American inspection, logistics and transportation facilities.  The position will sell services to E&P and pipe distribution customers and will be located in the Houston, Texas area.

 

Responsibilities

  • Market pipe related services Savage provides to E&P companies and pipe distributors including, transportation, inventory management, inspection and repair
  • Manage current accounts to keep existing customers
  • Identify and secure additional customers to assist the business in meeting growth objectives
  • Coordinate with transportation and pipe yard and shop personnel to ensure services are delivered as customers expect
  • Stay up-to-date on business trends and plans of exploration & production companies throughout the United States
  • Understand and articulate the drilling and completion schedules for all customers
  • Build strong relationships with the corporate teams who plan and organize E&P activities, but also ensure there is a partnership with those who will receive the services in the field
  • Serve as the company expert on the pipe supply chain – from the mill to the well – and discover opportunities for Savage to bring value to that supply chain
  • Prepare short and long-term sales plans, sales forecasts and marketing strategy
  • Make recommendations relating to advertising, sales promotions programs and technical brochures.
  • Represent the Company in industry trade organizations and shows
  • Responsibilities are not all inclusive and may change based on the need of the company

Qualifications

 

 

  • Sales experience, particularly in an oil field environment, essential; pipe services sales experience strongly preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry, particularly in well services
  • Ability to leverage strong relationships in the industry, particularly with the pipe distributors and end users
  • Excellent communication (interpersonal and written) and relationship building skills
  • Ability to "think ahead" and anticipate the needs of the business
  • Knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times
  • Impeccable integrity

 

Education/Experience:

  • 4+ years experience in oilfield pipe services sales or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
