The HR Business Partner acts as an advisor and strategic partner in support of the Business Group and People Group objectives. The position is responsible for a full range of generalist duties including leadership development, succession planning, coaching, recruiting/staffing, onboarding, employee relations, training, EEO, labor relations, U.S. and international labor law, compensation, and benefit administration. 




  • Leadership advisory role for Group leadership team. Responsible for providing guidance in employee relations issues, employee coaching and counseling, documentation of employee performance, and termination procedures.
  • Provides leadership and takes appropriate ownership of performance management, including leadership development and data management to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Support operational development and start up teams – guide the workforce planning process, budget people related expenses, provide market and wage intelligence/ analysis, oversee onboarding, culture assimilation, etc.
  • Set and implement a people strategy that aligns the goals and needs of the Operating Group and the People Group.
  • Coordinate Performance Management for the operating group, overseeing succession planning, career planning, team member assessment, etc.  
  • Working closely with Talent Acquisition, project manages the recruitment process including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, progress reporting, and orientation.
  • Administers approved compensation programs including relocation policy administration.
  • Assists in managing workers compensation claims, EEOC, labor relations, and state/federal government compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates HRIS system data and updates as needed.
  • Communicates with management and team members to answer questions, clarify policies and processes, create solutions, and resolve issues or conflicts.
  • Supports company initiatives and communicates to leadership and team members as appropriate.
  • Participates and/or leads in special projects for Business Group and People Group leadership as needed.
  • Teams with business leaders in addressing labor relations issues.
  • Conducts ethics and policy investigations as assigned.
  • Delivers targeted leadership and/or team member training.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience working as an HR Generalist or in related HR specialties.
  • SHRM Certification preferred, not required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate policies and best practices.
  • Mid-level knowledge of HR - evidences by detailed experience coaching and counseling managers.
  • Ability to work with executives and field personnel, exercise discretion, and build strong relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with the ability to develop and run basic reports out of databases.
  • Ability to objectively coach team members and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • Exercises good judgment and effectively uses decision making skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is in a professional office environment
  • Ability to sit or stand at an office desk for long periods of time
  • Ability to travel based on the need of the company, approximately 30%
  • Must wear proper personal protective equipment as environment and position dictate 
  • Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position
