Overview

The Accounting Manager will lead the team in ensuring accurate financial records through proper recording of accounts receivable, application of cash receipts and account reconciliations, improve accounts receivable processes through implementation of standard process and automation, and perform monthly analysis and reporting providing business leaders actionable information.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of four to five team members
  • Ensure the monthly closing of the Accounts Receivable module and the completion of account reconciliations
  • Ensure revenue is recorded correctly and participating in transition to new revenue recognition standard; may lead depending on experience
  • Monitor timely collection of monies due to company
  • Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly
  • Monitor cash collections, provide actionable insight to business leaders and work with operations to ensure timely collection
  • Manage the process to update contractual rate adjustments to ensure implementation and accuracy
  • Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures
  • Monthly reporting and analysis of accounts receivable balances by business group, aging analysis, and cash receipts
  • Lead implementations of new A/R standard processes to achieve efficiencies and prepare for growth
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounts receivable or accounting experience
  • Experience managing a small team 
  • Accounting degree, CPA preferred 
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel

Physical Requirements 

  • This position requires working primarily in an office environment and will include travel to and in environments containing dust, chemicals and other such elements requiring Personal Protective Equipment in which position would be required to wear at such times
  • Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position
