The Ordinary Seaman is to assist with the operation of deck and cargo machinery and perform the duties of helmsman, lookout when at sea, and duties relating to navigational watchkeeping assigned by the OICNW. When transferring cargo, the Ordinary Seaman assists the Person-in-Charge (PIC) with standing a cargo watch. The Ordinary Seaman reports directly to the Chief Mate for cargo, maintenance, and safety related duties, and the OICNW for navigational duties.
This is a temporary position lasting approximately 75-90 days.
