Unload and load railcars and trucks with pipe used in the oil well drilling process using 20,000 lbs. capacity forklifts or Pettibone.  Responsible for cleaning, housekeeping, snow removal, etc., in the pipe yard. Will also perform ispection services, and perform minor repairs and cleaning to the equipment and facilities, keeping them in safe condition.

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform pre- and post-inspection on all equipment operated
  • Perform Job safety analyses and attend safety meetings
  • Help maintain inventory of supplies and/or shop equipment
  • Ensure receiving and shipping paper work is accurate and verified
  • Inventory tracking and ensuring proper delivery
  • General Maintenance ("bolt on –bolt off") 
  • Cleaning / Housekeeping, snow removal and initiation of steps to resolution 
  • Commit to Safe work practices through situational awareness, following standard operating procedures, receiving constructive criticism and watching out for the health and wellness of others
  • Comply with all safety standards
  • Partner with the maintenance team to ensure the facility operates smoothly
  • Ensure all activities are accurately documented
  • Handle problems as they arise and initiate steps to resolution 

 

Qualifications

  • Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Passed all tests according to written Savage procedures
  • A sound understanding or aptitude to learn pipe transloading and inspection 
  • Understands, or willing to learn, railroad operations and safety 
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
  • Able to read and understand operating procedures; ability to read, understand and follow field inspection criteria accordina to all API inspection manuals
  • Ability to operate and move equipment around the yard and shop
  • Flexibility and ability to work on various shop, maintenance, and yard tasks
  • Positive attitude and a good team member
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motor-vehicle report and criminal background check 
  • Must be able to attend and pass all tests associated with job related coursework. This includes, but it not limited to: OSHA, Safe land, H2S Awareness.  Strong commitment to safety  
  • Ability to work a night shift
  • Ability to work some weekends, and be on call

 

Education/Experience:

  • Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment
  • High School Education or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to complete the physical aspects of the job including heights, crawling, walking long distances on uneven terrain, etc. 
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions: extreme wind, snow, rain, heat and cold 
  • Able to routinely lift 50-lbs
