The Reliability Engineer will provide maintenance guidelines, support and training to maintenance team members across the company. The initial focus will be on technical support for setup for our computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and formalizing maintenance standards.


The Reliability Engineer will work closely with operations, equipment, procurement, and the CMMS program manager to facilitate proper maintenance of company equipment (semi- tractors, trailers, light trucks, yellow equipment, conveyors, pumps, motive power, and various other processing and industrial equipment).



  • Be the go-to resource in the development of Maintenance Standards and Practices
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improved performance, efficiencies, and maintenance practices
  • Become proficient on both Savage  CMMS  systems (Manager Plus and  Marine)   
  • Provide trouble shooting support for operational and maintenance teams
  • Provide analysis and support to assist operations in identifying trends in failures for systems and equipment
  • Analyze the effects of the PM schedules and operating environments and make recommendations for changes if needed 
  • Evaluate life cycle and reliability of parts and provide purchasing recommendations
  • Track, analyze, and report program effectiveness and recommend enhancements
  • Coach and train team members on maintenance and reliability practices and systems
  • Interface with outside resources and OEM partners
  • Update and lead the implementation of company maintenance policies
  • Design CMMS structure and processes while balancing increased standardization, operational flexibility and customer needs
  • Support our OEM partner interfaces to share information on the equipment
  • Establish and monitor KPI’s with Operational team
  • Analyze life of equipment and make repair/replacement recommendations
  • Responsibilities are not all-inclusive and may change based on the need of the company


  • Required --BS/BA Engineering, (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Process) or related field
  • Five (5+) years of operation,  maintenance ,  or reliability  experience;  including supervision, training, planning and scheduling in industries such truck and rail transportation, bulk material handling facilities, bulk liquids such as chemical, crude oil, or other similar industrial operations
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in one or more areas of industry -  (i.e. marine, supply chain management bulk material and/or liquid handling, transportation, logistics, refineries)
  • Willingness to relocate to Salt Lake City

 Physical Requirements

  • Physically able to travel to industrial sites, climb stairs, ladders, and in/on/around industrial equipment, bend, stoop, kneel and work outside in all seasons and weather
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% - 70% of time (more in the first 2 years)
  • Position is split between field work and an office setting. Sitting and or standing may be required for several hours at a time
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
