Coordinates the daily activity and administrative paperwork for rail car movements in Savage’s operation in the Delaware City Refinery.




  • Prepare daily switch activity in a way that ensures safety, efficiency and meets the customer’s needs
  • Monitor 3rd party rail activity happening onsite, such as NS rail movements
  • Coordinate and Track railcar inventories, car locations and movements within the refinery and SIT yard in the appropriate logistics programs, such as Bourque, Pacesetter and Excel
  • Communicate railcar movements to all interested parties such as rail crews, refinery production units and Savage leadership by phone, radio and/or email
  • Create and provide daily logistics reports, reconciliation reports and railcar repair reports to the customer and Savage management
  • Professionally work with railroad operations/customer service teams to resolve rail related issues
  • Monitor all inbound/outbound rail movements and divert to offsite storage or other refineries per the customer’s request.
  • Prepare railcars for exiting the facility by creating the bill-of-lading, ensure proper documentation is complete (i.e. railcar inspections) and any required FRA documentation has been submitted
  • Coordinate railcar repairs with the customer and the local repair unit
  • Take an active role in safety program including attendance to all safety meetings, adhere to procedures and ensure safe behaviors of self and coworkers
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Advanced knowledge and experience in computers, including: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience using Bourque Logistics Programs, or other rail management programs, a plus
  • Experience utilizing data management programs a must, with an ability to key in information efficiently and accurately
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and execute
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Positive attitude and a good team member
  • Must pass a pre-employment reference checks, drug screen, motor-vehicle report and criminal background check
  • Must possess or qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC card) 
  • Must be able to attend and pass all test associated with job related coursework. This includes, but it not limited to: OSHA, HazMat and FRA related courses
  • Able to reliably fulfill a set rotational schedule (days, nights, 24/7/365)
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in written form


  • Dispatching and/or logistics experience a plus
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a customer service environment
  • Occasional training will be required offsite.  Travel and overnight stay could be required
  • A high school diploma, or equivalent

 Physical Requirements:

  • Will sit for long hours
  • Must be able lift up to 25 lbs
