  • Overview

    The primary responsibility of the Wireline Operator is to provide broad range of wireline services to customers in the field at the well head.



    • Responsible for rigging up and rigging down wireline equipment
    • Prepare the tool string make up
    • Maintain and clean wireline equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
    • Drive company vehicle to location when required
    • Maintain clean and orderly workplace
    • Available on a 24-hour basis to respond to customer needs
    • Listen to engines, rotary chains, or other equipment to detect faulty operations or unusual well conditions
    • Thread cables through derrick pulleys, using hand tools
    • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level
    • Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
    • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
    • Control operations of equipment or systems
    • Monitor/Assess performance of equipment to make improvements or take corrective action
    • Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
    • Determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
    • Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution
    • Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
    • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
    • Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
    • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned


    • Previous Experience as Wireline Operator preferred
    • Must have ability to acquire CDL with Hazmat endorsement
    • Must have clean driving record
    • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Available to work on-call schedule when required
    • High school diploma or equivalency required

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs frequently
    • Ability to climb into and out of cab multiple times per shift, and climb a ladder and steps 10 or more times per day
    • Ability to drive and work in adverse weather conditions
