  • Overview

    The Team Member-Facility Support (TMFS) is an entry-level position with opportunities for future growth.  Primary responsibilities include general labor duties, but not limited to clean-up of equipment, work areas and grounds. Perform general maintenance on equipment, unload Unit Trains and operate the coal handling systems.  The TMFS will report directly to the Team Leader, Senior Team Leader and Operations Manager

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Must be willing to learn and eventually be able to operate a conveyor system to transport dry bulk products.
    • Must be willing to learn and eventually be able to unload trains.
    • Occasionally lift/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Routinely climb stairs, ladders and work at various heights.
    • Wear a respirator and all required personal protective equipment (job dependent).
    • Participate in all daily/monthly safety and communication meetings.
    • Shovel, sweep, clean and wash with hoses as directed.
    • Complete any other duties as directed by the Team Leader or Management.

    Qualifications

     

    • BS degree; Engineering degree preferred but not mandatory
    • Basic understanding of material handling facilities and equipment including the associated components and maintenance thereof
    • Experience with project management and/or engineering
    • Knowledge of computers and related hardware/software; knowledge of computer networks and programmable logic controllers a plus
    • Above average spreadsheet and word processing skills
    • Ability to write in English coherently with proper grammar and tone
    • Able to see the “big picture”
    • Understanding of heavy, industrial equipment from an operating and safety perspective
    • Ability to manage projects from conception to final commissioning
    • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system a plus but not required
    • Willing to study and learn new technical skills and techniques

    Requirements/Qualifications: 

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Must pass TMFS certification within 30 days of hire.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, follow company rules, and take direction from supervisors.
    • Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures and understand a worker’s right to stop work when potential safety hazards threaten oneself or others or damage to company assets.
    • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed/directed, routinely reporting for shifts and adhering to work schedules.
    • Ability to change schedule as needed for operational and customer needs.
    • Ability to perform basic computer functions. 
    • Must possess effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
    • Must be willing and motivated to learn additional skill sets as directed.

     

    Education/Experience:

    • High School or GED

     

    Physical Requirements:

    This position works primarily in an outdoor environment with minimal to high concentrations of coal dust. Must be able to work in extreme weather such as; wind, heat, and cold. Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position:

    • Work at heights as well as climbing stairs and ladders.
    • Lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Lifting or moving objects over 50 pounds must be accomplished by either using extra manpower or machine-assisted lifting techniques.
    • Required to wear proper personal protective equipment as environment and the position dictates.
    • Required to pass annual OSHA respirator and pulmonary function tests.
