  • Overview

    Savage Service Corporation’s Core Services Project Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting projects to promote organizational scalability and improve business process capabilities. Your cross-functional projects will vary in duration from days to months. Developing an internal network will be critical in this role. As a Core Services Project Manager, you will be a problem solver and strategic thinker.

     

    This role does not have a “typical day”; you will constantly be prioritizing tasks and identifying areas where you can create the most value.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Manage various levels of involvement, authority, and responsibility through all project phases
      • Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing
    • Act independently while providing status updates to Core Leadership
      • Maintain project pipeline documentation
    • Demonstrate ownership of projects and results
    • Actively recruit resources to ensure project needs are met
    • Prioritize tasks and projects
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and take action
    • Perform ad-hoc analysis to provide insight into current and future projects
    • Create and present project documentation
    • Work cross-functionally to remove organizational barriers to execution
    • Act as a hub that connects all Savage administrative resources

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree, S.T.E.M. or business degree preferred
    • 5+ years of work experience or equivalent
    • Preferred types of experience:
      • Project Management
      • Operations
      • Roles with P&L exposure or responsibility
    • Analytical Skills:
      • Comfortable digging into data
      • Comfortable with MS Excel, SQL, Tableau, R, or another software designed for data manipulation
    • Interpersonal Skills:
      • Ability to deescalate situations and maintain forward momentum
      • Effectively working with all personality types in sometimes frustrating situations
      • Solid communication skills in person, verbal, written, and electronic
    • Task oriented
    • Fiscally minded, able to connect project outcomes and financial implications

     

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to travel approx 25%:
      • projects may run for weeks or months at a time which require travel
      • Extended remote projects will allow for returning home regularly
    • This role is located in an office-setting where sitting and/or standing for long periods of time are required
