    Savage is seeking a Business Development and Strategy Analyst to assist our Business Development and Strategy teams with all aspects of commercial and strategy development.  The successful candidate will work on multiple projects at any given time, producing research and analytical work, supporting our sales, marketing, business development and strategy teams. A key area of work will include evaluating new markets and identifying new business opportunities.

    The Analyst is an independent contributor position but may often serve as a project manager. Specific responsibilities will include: analyzing data and presenting conclusions, conducting industry and market research, analyzing and looking for ways to optimize markets, developing models and recommendations using disparate and often conflicting data, creating and writing strategic businesses cases to invest in new markets or opportunities, writing proposals to support existing business growth opportunities and, ultimately, helping us achieve our financial and strategic objectives.

    The Analyst position requires a significant time commitment and is very research, analytic and computer-intensive.  The ability to work independently and meet deadlines with limited supervision is essential.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Supports the Company’s corporate strategy process.
    • Participate as a key member of business development teams, providing support, analytics, and insights to the entire team and pulling together all of the components and information needed for successful proposals
    • Conduct industry and market research on current industries we serve, as well as on new industries to Savage, and present conclusions and recommendations to team
    • Conduct research on existing and potential customers and their businesses, and present conclusions and recommendations
    • Create and analyze financial models required for bidding on opportunities
    • Write proposals and prepare presentations for business opportunities
    • Work across Savage to identify business opportunities, with the ultimate goal of helping us achieve our business objectives
    • Participate in Business Group strategy development, providing key learnings and insights from your research

    Qualifications

            

    • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong quantitative, excel modeling, analytical, communication, writing and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to analyze data, develop key insights and concisely present conclusions and recommendations
    • Strong skill-set using Microsoft Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint
    • Discreet; able to maintain strict confidentiality
    • Ability to operate under pressure, work independently, manage projects and meet deadlines
    • Strong work ethic and impeccable integrity
    • Has “Ownership” Spirit
    • Ability to communicate effectively within all levels of an organization
    • Willing to commit as much time as is necessary to effectively fulfill responsibilities

     

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business-related or technical field preferred
    • 3.2 minimum GPA
    • 0-3 years of relatable work experience
    • Must have a passion for learning new industries, analyzing markets and looking for business opportunities within markets

     

    Physical Requirements

    • Occasional travel to meet with Business Teams at Savage offices in other locations
    • Position is primarily in an office setting where sitting and/or standing is required
