  • Overview

    The Financial Analyst provide significant administrative, accounting, and analytical support to Business Managers, General Managers, and Operation Managers within Business and Industry Units. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Look at the “big picture” – focusing on problem areas and assisting in the development of steps to problem resolution as it relates to financial performance, record keeping, business processes, KPI’s, etc.
    • Ensure financial reporting accuracy and timeliness (Daily Financial reports, Key Performance Indicator reports, monthly Projection and Variance Analysis, month-end processing and reporting, etc.)
    • Perform ad hoc operational and financial analysis to support business leaders; support operational decisions, cost improvement programs, financial improvements etc.
    • Monitor contractual rate adjustments to ensure implementation and accuracy
    • Oversee budget development, accounting policies and process communication
    • Assist the Unit Business Manager and Unit Leader with the establishment of key financial and operating performance standards and monitoring systems for the Unit
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly projections and prepare weekly/monthly variance explanations
    • Provide guidance and support to Operations Managers ensuring financial tools are utilized and internal controls and accounting processes are understood and followed
    • Assist with internal control compliance
    • Monitor accrued revenue balances, oversee accounts receivable balances, review accounts payable accruals and other applicable AR and AP related items
    • Assist with special projects as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA candidate a plus
    • 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance
    • Will require some travel to operation sites

     

    Physical Requirements

    • General office working environment
    • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
    • Must be able to travel approx. 10%
