    The Marine Director will offer leadership for Savage’s offshore marine operations.  Savage manages and operates a current fleet of four offshore marine transportation vessels – three ATBs and one ship.  In addition, we are actively seeking several other offshore vessel opportunities as owner and/or operator.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all aspects of offshore marine business and fleet management.  Ensure all marine vessels are operated and maintained in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, standards, and policies to ensure client satisfaction.
    • Recruitment, logistics, and administration of all crew (union and/or non-union) for managed vessels and shoreside personnel, including crew training and certification.
    • P&L responsibility for all offshore marine business – Capital and operating budget planning, development, management and execution.
    • Plan, establish maintenance schedules, and manage all preventative, routine, major, and dry-dock maintenance.
    • Marine supply chain planning and fleet logistics execution to achieve maximum utilization at a competitive cost structure.
    • Procurement and securing contracts for fuels, deck and engine stores, water, victuals and all necessary equipment, spare parts, and services required to efficiently and cost effectively maintain and operate all marine vessels.
    • Responsible for the continued integration of ABS’s NSE software for CMMS and all other operational functionality.

     

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Undergraduate Degree - Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (preferred or equivalent)
    • Graduate Degree - Masters Business Administration (preferred but not required)

     

    Experience 

    Minimum 15 years of management level experience of ocean going marine vessel business operations, including vessel design, construction process management and development / negotiation experience of contracts related to operating, crewing and shipyard affairs.  Good presentation ability for internal and external meetings.  Demonstrate a proven record of honesty and integrity.
