    We have an immediate opening for an experienced Diesel Mechanic position in our Trenton, North Dakota operation.

    The ultimate goal is to maintain all equipment and systems in such a fashion that everything is operating at peak efficiency in the safest manner possible at all times.

    Responsibilities

    • Safely perform Heavy and minjor repairs on all trucks and trailers
    • Regular servicing of yellow equipment and hydraulic systems
    • Utilize computer based diagnostics and determine whether repairs are a warrantee issue
    • Order and maintain inventories
    • Follow the Savage S7 program
    • Coordinate and schedule services and appropriate record keeping
    • Safely perform routine services, including:
      • Understand and repair air brake system
      • Understand and repair steering components
      • Steam and clean trailers and repair as needed
      • Steam-clean tractor/trailer units and general cleanup duties
      • Change/mount tires, grease CMV's, replace/repair lights, check/fill gear boxes, change oil/ filters, check/change wheel bearings, clutch adjustment/replacement
    • Trouble shoot problems as needed
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Abide by all DOT regulations and track all paperwork

    Qualifications

    • Attention to detail with problem solving ability
    • Experience with air brake systems and hydraulics
    • Experience with computerized maintenance systems, truck, engine, and transmission diagnostic software
    • Proficient at welding steel and aluminum as well as torch and plasma cutting 
    • Knowledge of DOT regulations and record-keeping requiements
    • Must have sufficient amount of personal tools to effectively maintain equipment
    • Ability to apply snow chains
    • Willing to work nights and weekends

     

    Education/Experience:

    • Formal education in Diesel Mechanics or equivalent verified experience
    • 2-5 years applicable experience

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to work in harsh environments
    • Must be able to climb in and out of cabs and trailers 20 or more times a day
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
