  • Overview

    The scaffolding position’s primary responsibility is to safely and timely set-up scaffolding.




    • The scaffolding position is responsible for erecting scaffolds in accordance with local, state, and federal. Erectors also must abide by all manufacturer recommendations and be capable of erecting scaffolds under the guidance of a competent person
    • Inspecting all scaffold components prior to assembly to insure that components used are of similar material and in good repair before becoming a part of the completed scaffold
    • Maintaining fall protection requirements while erecting / dismantling scaffolds
    • Prior to occupation scaffold erectors must notify the competent person that the scaffold has been erected and is ready to be inspected.
    • Training of other scaffold users if needed
    • Contacting and coordinating with the Competent Person regarding any issues associated with the erection of a scaffold
    • Completes visual and daily safety inspection of equipment to ensure safe operations
    • Performs other tasks as instructed by supervisor
    • The ability to work from written and verbal instructions
    • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
    • Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
    • Can follow all rules and procedures as outlines by Savage
    • Other duties may be assigned


    • 3 years of scaffolding experience
    • Able to read, write and understand basic English
    • Able to work 8 to 12 hours and on call
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background and reference check 
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus
    • Basic math skills
    • Computer skills (data entry)
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Class A CDL 


    • High School Diploma/GED


    Physical Requirements

    • Physically able to climb up and down stairs
    • Willing to receive training, and work outside in all weather conditions.
    • In good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
    • Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
    • Able to lift approximately 0-50 lbs. occasionally
    • Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. unassisted and regularly
