  • Overview

    The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic will be maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment for the Pawnee Power Plant.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
    • Troubleshoot electrical problems as they arise and repair or replace as needed. Troubleshoot instrumentation problems on the facility and mobile equipment to repair or replace as needed
    • Troubleshoot PLC and field device systems. Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and controls
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Learn and partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to utilize the CMMS system as a tool of organization and preventative maintenance record keeping
    • Collaborate with team members outside of the electrical department, including operations team members, maintenance personnel, coordinators, and management to ensure the overall success of the operation
    • Candidate must have a good understanding of customer service

    Qualifications

    • Understands industrial equipment as it pertains to material handling
    • Machining background preferred
    • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints preferred
    • Understanding of conveyor systems preferred, but not required
    • Machining background preferred
    • Experience working with Fire Systems in an industrial setting
    • Be willing to work with operations and other maintenance team members to achieve the operations critical objectives
    • Knowledge and experience using a CMMS system
    • Excellent communication skills: written and spoken
    • Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors and other team members
    • Self-starter capable of working independently
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion
    • The successful candidate will have a value system that matches up with the culture that we embrace
    • Must be available 24/7 for callouts, in situations where maintenance issues could result in customer service failures
    • Much of the facility is outdoors, with some work indoors. As such, the Maintenance Mechanic will be subjected to the extreme elements: heat, wind, cold, snow, humidity, etc.
    • The work site is an industrial facility and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance to strict OSHA regulations

     

    Education/Experience

    • Certified welder is preferred or able to certify within 1 month of hire
    • Certified or licensed machinist is preferred
    • 2 years experience in Industrial Maintenance

     

     Physical Requirements: 

    • Must be able to lift, carry 50 lbs. frequently 
    • Will also be subjected to rigorous physical activities that include: climbing stairs, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, crawling, maneuvering in tight spaces, walking or standing the majority of the day, regularly lifting heavy tools/parts and more.
