    Savage is looking for a Track Maintenance Supervisor who will lead a specialized team.   This Team Member will be responsible for planning, organizing and managing the track maintnance for one of our operations, insuring track maintenance, track inspections, upkeep on MOW equipment is done in a safe, environmentally friendly, and efficient manner.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Possesses experience and knowledge with; 
      • MOW Equipment
      • Track Maintenance
      • Track Inspections
      • Knowledge of FRA and AREMA standards
      • Prepare and execute project plans
    • Ability to build strong relationships with customer contacts
    • Ability to understand the customer contract and rate structure
    • Participate in budget preparation, management of profit and loss, and daily communication with customers for scheduling and other issues to ensure a smooth and safe operation.
    • Ability to develop and execute a business plan (including budgeting, projecting, variance analysis, and cost management)
    • Ability to promote a safety culture where each employee has the value and attitude that unsafe behaviors and conditions will not happen on their shift – be a Lead Safety Specialist and ensure Safety is our teams first consideration in every aspect of the business

    Qualifications

    Requirement

    • Hands on, hard-working, self-starter
    • In-depth knowledge of Track is a plus
    • Must have leadership skills to ensure team members follow procedures at all times even when no one is watching
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Provicient in microsoft office  (excel, word, powerpoint), and general office organization
    • Good written and oral skills with an ability to communicate with co-workers, customers, and other company personnel
    • Dynamic personality to lead employees and put safety first
    • Hands-on experience in track maintenance required
    • Knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements
    • Desire and willingness to learn 

    Education/Experience

    • College degree preferred
    • Management experience is a plus
    • 3 years of Track Maintenance experience required 

    Physical Requirements

    • This position is required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions
    • Must be able to work outdoors in various climates for up to 12 hours
    • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis
    • Must be able to climb steps and ladders
    • Must have the ability to work, walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time
    • Should have the ability to use basic hand tools
