    Savage Services is seeking a energetic new team member to join our team.  Have you been looking for an opportunity to expand upon your current skill set?  If so, Savage is seeking a Transload Operator who's primary responsibility is to safely and timely unload railcars to trucks within our customer's facility.

    • Ability to load and unload a variety of bulk liquid and dry products      
    • Ability to operate railcar loading systems and equipment
    • Professional interaction and collaboration with other Savage Team Members and customers
    • Participation in safety training programs, which may require brief and occasional travel
    • Assist with maintenance & troubleshooting, clean-up, and other duties as assigned
    • Create Bill of Lading and accurate data entry
    • Scale trucks in and out of facility 
    • Plow snow during winter months
    • Adherence to personal hygiene and grooming standards as defined by the UDFDA (US Food and Drug Administration)


    • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision
    • Ability to pass a skills test on the type of work performing
    • Dependability in attendance required
    • Ability to work Holidays and weekends as needed 
    • Ability to work overtime when needed
    • Ability to travel to other sites as needed  
    • Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel


    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent  
    • Valid Drivers License
    • Experience in data entry and working with Bill of Lading's preferred

    Physical Requirements

    • Commitment to working safely at all times
    • Ability to be exposed to the outdoor elements
    • Must be physically able to do the following:
      • Climb on and off railcars and locomotives safely
      • Operate railcar hand brakes
      • Operate rail switches
      • Walk long distances
      • Consistently bend, stoop, kneel, and climb on elevated surfaces
      • Work, walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time
      • Lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the course of a shift
      • Operate basic hand tools
      • Wear required PPE
      • Food grade personal hygiene (facial grooming, hands and finger nails clean and trimmed, head hair kept clean and managed, no exposed piercings)
