    Savage Services, a supply chain and logistics company, has an immediate opening for a Facility Maintenance Mechanic at our Trenton, ND Railport operation.

     

    Work as a member of the Savage Services Maintenance Team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment for the Bakken Petroleum Rail Hub in Trenton, North Dakota.  This position schedule is two-weeks on/two-weeks off, so there is no need to relocate to North Dakota.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
    • Participate in the company safety team, and build Savage’s Culture of Safety
    • Performing PM work in accordance with Savage Standards
    • Keep the warehouse and work area clean and organized
    • Learn and partner with the Maintenance Manager to utilize the CMMS system as a tool of organization and preventative maintenance record keeping
    • Become knowledgeable in all aspects of the operation as it pertains to the Maintenance Mechanic Position
    • Understand the equipment and perform repairs as needed
    • Support other areas of operation, as deemed by the Maintenance Manager, even in areas outside typical mechanical duties

     

    Qualifications

    • Understands industrial equipment as it pertains to material handling
    • Understanding of conveyor systems preferred but not required
    • Experience working with a Fire Systems in an industrial setting
    • Be willing to work with operations and other maintenance team members to achieve the operations critical objectives
    • Ability to learn Locomotive Maintenance, services and repairs
    • Machining background preferred
    • Drug Free and able to pass a criminal background check
    • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical blueprints preferred
    • Knowledge and experience using a CMMS system
    • Excellent communication skills: written and spoken
    • Effective interfacing with internal leadership, direct reports, external vendors and other team members
    • Self-starter capable of working independently
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion
    • The successful candidate will have a value system that matches up with the culture that we embrace
    • Must be willing to work a two weeks on two weeks off schedule and will required to be available for call-outs during the days that you are scheduled to be working

    Education/Experience:

    • Certified welder is preferred or able to certify within 1 month of hire
    • Certified or licensed machinist is preferred
    • Experience with diesel power equipment is preferred
    • 2 years experience in Industrial Maintenance

     

     

    Physical Requirements

    • Will be on your feel for extended periods of time throughout the day
    • Much of the facility is outdoors, with some work indoors. As such, the Maintenance Electrician will be subjected to the extreme elements: heat, wind, cold, snow, humidity, etc.
    • The work site is an industrial facility and will require someone who can work safely around this type of environment, as well as ensure compliance to strict OSHA, DOT-pipeline, and FRA regulations
    • Will also be subjected to rigorous physical activities that include: climbing stairs, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, crawling, maneuvering in tight spaces, walking or standing the majority of the day, regularly lifting heavy tools/parts and more.
    • Ability to lift 100 pounds
